#WE ARE AAU ARKANSAS

Jamie Robertson, Baseball Director

My name is Jamie T. Robertson, Owner of JTR Performance Training. My company is geared to offer student athletes the opportunity to become better equipped in the sport of their choice through sports specific training.

Throughout my life, sports have been a driving force for me, and my experiences with the sport of baseball takes me back to my childhood memories. As a young child, I remember playing baseball with my older cousins who played high school baseball. Those influences led me to have a passion for the sport, and I began playing pee wee baseball. I continued to play until I entered middle school where I then took up the sport of basketball, but never lost the passion for baseball. In high school, I was fortunate enough to rejoin the baseball team where I played for two years, but unfortunately broke my hand during my junior year in a basketball game. This injury required surgery, and from there I was never able to rehab back to the point that I was previously. This ended my sports career, but not my passion.

Since 2007, I have had the pleasure of being involved with AAU Basketball. I served as Head Coach of the Arkansas Lions, a Division II basketball team. I was fortunate to have successfully coached that team to 9th place in the nation. During the summers of 2008 and 2009, I was a member of the coaching staff of the Arkansas Wings Elite basketball team, during which term the team made consecutive Final Four Appearances.

Through coaching and hosting AAU basketball tournaments, I have been able to rekindle my love for the sport of basketball. However, there is no avenue to AAU in central Arkansas for the sport of baseball. My vision is to offer high school baseball players the same opportunities that AAU basketball offers to high school basketball players. Arkansas has great potential in the area of baseball due to high school baseball programs such as those at Sylvan Hills, North Little Rock, Pulaski Academy and Nettleton, but unfortunately not all students with a love for the sport are able to attend such powerhouse and notable schools. It is my belief that through AAU, students that attend different schools would benefit from an opportunity to participate in summer baseball leagues, skills clinics/camps. It is my vision that baseball players in our state be afforded this chance.

The potential for AAU baseball here in central Arkansas is exceptional and could quickly thrive, My continued relationships with various coaches here in the central Arkansas area afford me access to a number of facilities. Anyone personnel that would be willing to serve as committee members in order to get Arkansas AAU Baseball off the ground please feel free to contact me with any further questions or concerns regarding my aspirations for AAU Baseball here in the State of Arkansas
